About Us

It is often said that Old Codgery is only  a state of mind. We're not fully subscribed to that view, as medial knee pain after a 5k jog can often attest...but we are active folk looking to spread the gospel that age is no barrier to continued jogging/hiking enjoyment.

As certified Old Codgers we provide a number of services to our Members, including:

  • Wednesday Night Headtorch Runs and associated events
  • Our 'Going For Grey' seminars where we provide Members with the tips and tricks that the more mature runner will need for successful ultrarunning
  • OCC Training camps (UK and abroad) - accredited course leaders, Warden controlled (if required)
  • Product Reviews - it certainly is a minefield of new clobber out there! Carbon poles maybe fine for the UTMB, but what about a sturdy chestnut walking stick for that taxing 2 mile Canal walk?
  • A 'Member delivery' service for family  to rest assured that their parents/grandparents have arrived safely home after a particularly taxing race.

We will be providing more details of these exciting OCC membership benefits in due course, but if you have any initial questions, please do email us via our Contact page.

Member STUFF

Membership

Here at the Old Codgers Club, we like to think we're pretty inclusive. We won't take the piss if you're under 50 (well, maybe a little), but getting involved with the Club and it's associate, Wednesday Night Headtorch Runs, is open to all.

Dosh

Membership is free, but we are supporting one of our Co-Founders and his charity raising efforts. £5 will always be welcome here:

What our Members say...

  • 'I can't thank Allan enough...he's really got me thinking about what brand of fizzy lager I should be drinking as part of my post-run rehydration'
  • 'Best thing I ever did joining the Club...I've met some great people and have discovered where Maidstone is'
  • 'Thank You Old Codgers! My husband and I booked your 'Three Mountains, Three Months' guided jogging tour. Bloody brilliant and we loved the souvenir tea caddy.'
  • 'I'm definitely re-evaluating my footwear choice after your recent Club talk 'Is There Really An Alternative To The Dunlop Green Flash?' I particularly liked the Box Hill, hill rep role playing session.'
